| Eucharistic Retreat |

This retreat is based on the Gospel of St. John, Chapter 6, "I Am the Bread of Life." The retreat is open to all young adults ages 13 - 30. The Eucharistic centered Retreat includes the Mass, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, adoration, talks, music, catechesis, prayer, meditation and fellowship. This format provides a means to help young people develop a deep and lasting personal relationship with Jesus Christ, especially in the Eucharist, "the source and summit of Christian life." (Lumen Gentium 11) Christ present to us in scripture, in the sacraments, in the liturgy, in prayer, and in each other, but especially in the Eucharist, is the focus of the weekend (Catechism of the Catholic Church 1088). All teaching and instruction are taken from Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, encyclicals and documents approved by the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. The liturgical practices at the retreat follow the guidelines as set out in the "General Instruction of the Roman Missal". |
